I love essential oils and have been using them for four years now. I have seen the biggest difference in my health from using them. When I first began using essential oils I only used them to clean with because I had become so sensitive to bleach and commercial cleaners. Then, I began diffusing them and now I use them topically. I’ve been using oils topically for about a year now, and I’ve noticed a difference in my health after using them consistently for 4 months. I created a wellness blend of essential oils that I apply t0 the soles of my feet nightly. The soles of the feet are a good place to begin applying essential oils. The feet have large pores so the oils are absorbed into the bloodstream efficiently.
My wellness blend recipe consist of Thieves Blend, Thyme, Frankincense, Lavender, Peppermint, and Oregano. Plus, I add carrier oils of Castor and Magnesium to dilute the essential oils. Some oils are “hot” (such as Peppermint and Cinnamon) and require a carrier oil to dilute them. You would not apply these directly to the skin without using a carrier oil. My reason for using Castor and Magnesium oil is because castor is deeply absorbed into the skin and because of this it makes a great vehicle for essential oils. Castor oil is also quite viscous so adding magnesium oil thins it out plus you get the benefits of magnesium.
Magnesium is a vital mineral that our bodies need. Magnesium is responsible for regulating 300 biochemical reactions in the body! This mineral can be found in many supplement forms and foods, but sometimes with autoimmune disease nutrient absorption can be impaired. This is why liquid magnesium oil that is applied topically can be so helpful because the body will absorb the magnesium through the skin. (Like it does with an epsom salt bath.)
The reason I choose to use these oils for my wellness blend is because of the amazing immune boosting properties they contain. Thieves consists of: Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Clove, and Rosemary. In a recent study, Winska et al. (2019), ‘Essential Oils as Antimicrobial Agents—Myth or Real Alternative?’, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Clove, Lavender, Peppermint, and Thyme exhibited antimicrobial properties against Gram-positive bacteria. Also, found in another study, Acs et. al (2018), ‘Antibacterial Activity Evaluation of Selected Essential Oils in Liquid and Vapor Phase on Respiratory Tract Pathogens’, BMC Complement Alternative Medicine., Cinnamon, Clove, and Thyme showed antibacterial potential in treating pathogens susceptible to the respiratory tract. These are just two of the many studies showing the promise of essential oils.
Maybe you have tried essential oils in the past and they didn’t work for you. Most of the time this happens is because of the quality of the oil. If you ordered an oil online or picked one up at the store it’s more than likely not a high quality oil. Many companies do not distill the oils properly or they add synthetic additives to it which will wreak havoc on your hormones. They do not have to disclose this information to the public. That is why I only trust and use Young Living Essential Oils. They have high quality standards and testing to bring their customers the best. Even in this uncertain time of COVID-19, Young Living has made it possible for every customer to have Thieves Essential Oils and Thieves Cleaning Products available to them.
